Had my total colectomy in June of 1985, as a result of colon cancer brought about by UC. I struggled as a kid, then teen, then a young adult with extremely serious UC. Finally having to be given the surgery in order to survive. That was so long ago, but I still struggle with occasional emotional flare ups. I have actual nightmares about ‘leaking’ without access to supplies, bathroom, running water, you get the drift….anyhow, just wanted to say I’m glad I survived the cancer, multiple follow-up surgeries, chemo, etc. God bless all of us!
